What is Eco-Turf?

ScienTurfic’s Eco-Turf is a blend of 3-5 varieties of hybrid bluegrass specially grown for the Rocky Mountain Region. Eco-Turf is a thick dense turf that is adapted for drought and cold tolerance. This special blend also tolerates high traffic areas. Eco-Turf maintains a deep green color and has a leaf texture that is fine to medium.

Our roots make the difference

One of the biggest advantages of Eco-Turf is its extensive rooting and rhizomatous structure. Rhizomes are underground roots that allow the plant to repair itself quickly and survive through prolonged periods of stress. They also allow it to knit and present a dense and plentiful turf.

Specially grown for Colorado

Eco-Turf’s bluegrass varieties are specially blended for the sunny Colorado climate and provides excellent tolerance of the harsh cold winters.

Eco-Turf is also blended to adapt to the various types of soils in the region. This blend prefers a loam soil but can survive the extremes of sand or clay soils.

An Eco-Turf lawn planted on well prepared soil adapts to Evapotranspiration (ET) irrigation guidelines for both the traditional and xeric or water-wise landscape.
Eco-Turf is most commonly used on home lawns, parks, cemeteries, golf course fairways, and athletic fields because of its ability to withstand high traffic. Eco-Turf provides a natural, comfortable, safe, and durable surface for play and relaxation.

Our formulated bluegrass blends

In consultation with seed growers and universities, Eco-Turf was developed as a proprietary blend of bluegrass varieties resulting in superior wear and drought tolerance, sod strength, a thick turf, disease resistance, and a deep green color.

Benefits for the environment

As the region’s environmentally-friendly turf grass blend,
Eco-Turf plays an important role in reducing carbon dioxide emissions, mitigating the heat island effect, reducing energy consumption, and interacting with the ecosystem through physical and biological processes, which contribute to the overall health of the landscape. Eco-Turf also benefits the environment by releasing oxygen into the air, cooling the temperature, controlling pollution, reducing soil erosion, and purifying and replenishing our water supply.

Drought resistant

Eco-Turf is a proprietary blend of the newest hybrid grasses specially blended to be drought resistant.
Once established, Eco-Turf can better
endure drought conditions with only minimal amounts of water to keep the rhizomes and crown alive. Unlike other grasses which can die out, Eco-Turf will adapt to drought stresses and heat by going dormant until more favorable growing conditions return.
Great for playing, high traffic
